Up and Running

Good grief!  What a busy week I have had since my last post.  I have my studio put together, and have shipped out my first two pieces from it now!  Im catching up on orders over the next few days, and then you can start to expect to see some new pieces coming out.  Im excited to get to paint what has been in my head for a while now.  What would you like to see as the subject matter? Sea Turtle, Sea Horse or a Tarpon?  Im leaning towards Tarpon as it is a popular fish for sport anglers!  Would love some feedback!

Excited!!!

I rented out my new studio space yesterday. I have been so excited I cannot sleep. I have been a stay at home mom for 6 years and now having something to do, outside the home has me floored! I move into my new studio tomorrow and Monday, then I hit it hard with three orders to finish in 2 weeks! After these orders are out, I get to start on my Costal Bend series. Any suggestions what to paint first? Sea Turtle, Sea Horse, Snook, Sheep Head, Gull or marsh birds?

A Good Day

I heard my daughter's door open this morning and I was up to head out for a walk.  I went to see if she would join me.  She was back in bed, and sitting there and said to me in her sweet matter-of-fact voice, "It's a good day".  I agreed with her and hugged her.  She was hot and for sure has a fever, but the lesson I learned from that very moment was that no matter how I feel, or what the day may hold, I have the opportunity to still create for me and my family a Good Day!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post!  Have a GOOD DAY!

First things first!

Well, this is my first blog.  My site here will be committed to my love of art and the small business I am starting in order to make some much needed money!  I believe that if you love something, you might as well make money while you do it, right? About 1 1/2 years ago I started a page on Etsy selling nursery art.  I had done some art for my children as well as some friends kiddos.  So I got a suggestion from a friend to start an Etsy page.  I had NEVER heard of it.  After about 2 minutes on the page, I knew what I had to do.  I got PayPal set up, set up my shop and 2 weeks later had my first Sale!!!  Since then I have had roughly 30 sales on my site and countless commissioned projects off the site.  Because I cant figure out how to display a gallery of ALL paintings I do on my Etsy page, I have created this blog.  Whaa Laa!

Im excited about sharing my tips, treasures and ideas.  I look forward to a bright future, lots of comments and learning from my followers.

Here is one of my recent pieces!

Laguna Madre Red
36" x 24"
Acrylic on Canvas
SOLD

I sold this one out of Padre Island Mail and More on SPID on North Padre Island.  I use them for all of my shipping and their staff is amazing.  I will not use anyone else.  I am planning on doing a whole series of fish from the Texas Coastal Bend.

In more exciting news I am pleased to tell you that I think I am about move from my dining room to a small studio I found in Flour Bluff.  More to come!!
